Gilliam Fellows 2018 Molecular Biology Institute The goal of the hhmi gilliam fellows program is to foster an environment where students from racial, ethnic, or other groups underrepresented in the sciences can thrive. earlier today, we announced the new 2020 class of gilliam fellows – please join us in welcoming them!. Gilliam fellows become part of a supportive community of scholars. during their tenure, they build community with peers at gilliam annual meetings, increase their scientific knowledge, and gain important insight and advice from leading scientists at hhmi science meetings.
Gilliam Fellows Program Hhmi Earlier today, we announced the new 2020 class of gilliam fellows – please join us in welcoming them!. With the addition of the 2020 cohort, more than three hundred doctoral students have been named gilliam fellows. "these fellows are amazing scientists," said hhmi program officer sonia zárate. Today, in keeping with this tradition, hhmi congratulates 50 graduate students and their advisers who have been named gilliam fellows in recognition of outstanding research in their respective scientific fields and their commitment to building a more inclusive scientific ecosystem. Hhmi spoke with asai and zárate to learn more about the gilliam community, the culture of science, and what the gilliam program has planned for the near future.
Gilliam Fellows Program The Graduate School Washington State University Today, in keeping with this tradition, hhmi congratulates 50 graduate students and their advisers who have been named gilliam fellows in recognition of outstanding research in their respective scientific fields and their commitment to building a more inclusive scientific ecosystem. Hhmi spoke with asai and zárate to learn more about the gilliam community, the culture of science, and what the gilliam program has planned for the near future. Prospective fellows must be u.s. citizens, permanent residents, or other immigrants to the u.s.2, from racial, ethnic, or other groups recognized in the u.s. as underrepresented in the sciences2,3,4, or alumni of the hhmi exrop and be at the appropriate program stage of their phd training. Hhmi is proud to announce the 2020 gilliam fellows. they’re bound by a shared passion for science and will join a growing and diverse community of graduate students and their advisers. A letter of support that details evidence of the student’s: promise as a scientific investigator; potential for leadership in the academic and scientific community; and agreement with the terms, described above, to ensure responsible research and behavioral conduct. Starting from my time applying, i’ve sought out the experiences of many successful fellows. my goal here is to summarize a collection of advice from current fellows as well as hhmi leadership. at the end of this post, i also include some links to other helpful resources.
