Download Christcorp said: i was thinking if i kept the bose acoustimass bass module for the low frequencies, and as power protection against over driving the satellite speakers, i could connect some better small cube shelf etc. type speakers to the bose acoustimass bass module. as @eljaycanuck notes there is heavy equalization in that thing. I’m not sure if this is the correct forum for this question and if not, please feel free to direct me in that direction or move the thread. my home theater and stereo is set up pretty well. but i’m looking for a decent small platform radio for a bedroom bathroom like the bose wave radio. i know.

Download Bose gets huge amounts of grief, but in the modern day, their products aren’t that bad. they have clear limitations, but so much of audiophile hatred for bose is built around myth and other people’s systems. if you brought a bose product into your own home and optimized it the way you want to optimize…. By about 1980 i was out of the high end home audio hobby and when i came back for a short while in the mid '90s bose seemed to have lost a lot of credibility with audiophiles, especially with the numerous versions of the "cubes" and bose' take on the "subwoofer". what happened to bose?. I have come across a pair of 1970ish bose 800 professional series speakers. they are pa type speakers with 8x4inch speakers in each cabinet. i haven't been able to find a whole lot of information on them as far as value or age. was wondering if anyone was educated on these or knew any. On the bose speaker wires one side of the wire is smooth and the other has a rough look feel to it, i forget which side is poss and neg but all you have to do is call bose and they can tell you if the smooth side is poss or neg. does that help ? davyo.

As you have surmised, that bose system is a proprietary setup. the speakers will only work with bose systems, specifically the ones they're designed for. as for why you're only getting 5.0 instead of 5.1, i'll let others comment on that. i realise that you're on a budget, but if you want the full home theatre experience, you may need to look elsewhere. i'm sure others will be able to give you. Used several bose speakers past 15 years and love that bose provides very crisp and clear dialogue and audio. not a big fan of heavy base. now i am building a home theater with a 16 ft x 20 2 ft (2ft for speakers and 2 woofers behind acoustic screen) and need a proper home theater speaker setup. I have a bose radio player with phono inputs to connect a cd player with phono outputs but it has no usb input. i have a usb flash drive stick with music on it that i would like to play on my bose player. is it possible and if it is, how can i do this? does this require a usb type of player to. Unfortunately, the bose lifestyle speakers connect to the bose subwoofer via a rca plug and the subwoofer then connects to the lifestyle receiver via a 8 pin plug. i was wondering if there is a way for me to connect the bose lifestyle speakers and subwoofer to the yamaha receiver. ive been looking for adapters but im having a hard time finding.
