Scalies are a type of furry whose skin is mostly scales, if you hadn't already guessed that. some common scalies are dragons, dinosaurs, lizards, and crocs (not the plastic shoe kind). i'd like to share my method of drawing them. this walk through might be a little more advanced, but don't get discouraged.

Tutorial Furry Anthro Heads By Flamiedewynter On Deviantart I wanna design a gecko sona, but i'm struggling a bit to know where to start as i've pretty much only drawn protogens for as long as i've been in the fandom, and most tutorials out there seem to focus more on canine characters more than anything. Oh, and before we start a cute picture that makes me smile. an awesome visual of how to map out a character's head shape and muzzle w before and after. shows on one side how a bunch of characters look with the same head, and on the other how they look with more animalistic heads. So i finally got this project off my chest lol, i've been dying to remake my furry faces tutorial since i've had many many people come tell me that my last guide was very useful to them and it's been driving me nuts because it was so badly done, i had to remake it!!. We're finally getting to the furries guys! thanks for sticking with this so far, i know there was a lot to cover in the previous episodes but your artwork is already so much better for it!.

We're finally getting to the furries guys! thanks for sticking with this so far, i know there was a lot to cover in the previous episodes but your artwork is already so much better for it!. Since everything can be broken down to basic shapes, it's very important to learn those shapes and how to draw them so you can use them as building blocks to draw complex figures. Sculpting a headbase when you have a limited artistic background can be daunting. this guide aims to break down the process, specifically the artistic process, into manageable bite sized pieces. i highly recommend using a combination of nomad sculpt, cozyblanket, and blender for creating headbases. I downloaded some references and studied them, and i gotta say, this is good for my first time ever drawing scalies. i even developed what i think might be a good method for simplifying scalie heads into simple shapes. I'm making 3d models for fursuits and hand puppets for about a year now and i print them on my flashforge creator 3d printer. i have made 3d models for head bases, claws, noses, eyelids, footpads and teeth.
