Audi S4 S5 B8 B8 5 3 0 Ea837 Supercharged Secretflow 2 5 Catless Here's the problem, the stihl setting gage seems to set the air gap too tight, like 0.004" measured between the ignition module arms and the flywheel magnets using a feeler gage set. it seems as though the center coil pick up on the ignition module has a wider air gap. now my question, what is the proper way to measure an ignition module air gap?. It's sop to inspect & gap new spark plugs to your desired gap before installing them. they could have been dropped, thereby changing the gap, etc. never assume they are gapped correctly out of the box. how does the manufacturer know what you are going to gap them at?.

My Supercharged V8 Coupe Page 4 Audi A5 Forum Audi S5 Forum This took creating "drivrs" in the hei module to increase dwell charge time to the coil, store more energy, to make the larger gap function correctly over a point system. along the development of the hei, some engineers decided that to fire off ever more leaner fuel molecules, the hei needed increased spark plug gaps. Th350 stock converter to a blueprint 350. w bp flexplate (new) i have done the research and just wanted to confirm what i have read online with the knowledge base here. when i go to bolt the tc and the flywheel together, there is a gap of .210 as measured with feeler gauges (see pic below). This wide gap situation causes excessive arcing at the points and, because of this, your points will prematurely burn and pit. the resulting small dwell setting doesn't give the coil sufficient time to build up maximum energy and so coil output decreases resulting in poor engine performance. I gap them at .040. first posted to tc as ole birkland in feb 1999 aces 3383 1969 chevelle ss396, l78, m22, kk 4.10 posi, f41, blue light stereo, tilt column, burgundy maroon w red stripe, black bench seat, ps, pdb, american torque thrust & bfg ta's, fully restored.

Things that determine resistance is the plug wire conductor (metal conducts better than carbon impregnated fiberglass strands), the spark gap, and the resistance in the plug (the r in the designation of an ac delco plug denotes an internal air gap to prevent power from bleeding off too soon). Should i try to seal the gap between the condenser and radiator to make sure the fans are not bypassing the condenser, or will this gap be ok. my fans combined will pull around 2,500 cfm at full speed. i will be using pwm control for the fans, so even on low speed should be pulling 1,200 cfm. Quarter to door gap determines placement of the door. theoretically, if the door is 3 16" shy of the rocker leading edge, fender will be butted up to rocker leaving a 3 16 door fender gap. either way is within factory tolerance. jeremy, you say you can't add more shims, maxed out at the top. how thick is the shim pack ?.
