When i attempt to update an existing release pr, release please is incorrectly marking the unreleased version as the latest version and then adding all of the commits for the entire history to the changelog. What we are finding is that when a pr is merged, and it contains a commit that references an issue or pr from the fork in which it was authored, that issue # gets included in the release notes, though in that context (the original fork) it will reference a completely different issue. Sorry to bump this closed ticket, but i'm actually able to mark an older release as latest from the github web ui. this allows the latest label to be moved to an older github release. moving the latest label would be useful to mark what tag is used for production. Release notes are not auto generating when we make github releases off of our main branch. there are new pr merge commits that should be included in the auto generated release notes.
