Help Audi B8 Won T Start After Engine Scan Audiworld Forums Audi b8 won't start after engine scan my brother had a check engine light on his 2015 a4 (b8) and took it to autozone to get scanned. after he got the codes back, he went to leave and the car wouldn't start with no lights, steering wheel locked, etc. My audi a4 b8 cranks but doesn’t start. sometimes it starts for a second after sitting a while but immediately shuts off when pressing the gas while parked. i’m not getting any dtc code errors with a cheap obd2 reader.
Engine Start System Fault Error Audiworld Forums Then i got to my last clients house, was there for 10 mins, and when i went to start the car, i just got clicks, we tried a car starter, and jumping the car, with no success. the mmi says that the battery was at 0 percent charged. Pushing the start button with or without engaging the clutch results in beeps and malfunction messages on epb, tpms, stability control, sometimes a few others. i have to wait until the cel (2 minutes) comes on and then the button push will start the engine. once it is started, all these functions do work. the cel then remains on. It then cranks but won't start. about 30 minutes later, it starts and drives just fine. i cleared the codes before checking, so i will scan in a few days and note the codes. I did call in at a local vw audi specialist but wont come out to scan. i can't believe that all this could have been caused by that topdon starter. they must sell 1000s of them and there's no trace of a similar problem online.

Parked it for 20 minutes and went to start it and it would not crank. replaced battery and it just cranks over. first i assumed it could be flooded, pulled plugs let it sit. reinstalled the plugs and it cranked then attempted to start slightly and then went back to just cranking over. My audi won't start, and it isn't showing any codes. just did the timing chain, i've looked everywhere the internet tells me to look and i still haven't found why it cranks and won't start. gas pump works, i have gas in my lines. It only cranked but did not start. it gave p0016 and misfire codes on all 4 banks. got it towed to a local mechanic and they confirmed that the timing chain has jumped. got it towed home. i changed the timing chain and put in a new version tensioner. tried to start it up and still just cranking and no start. any help would be great!.
