Contigo En El Cole Behance Eladrin are more fae than "lessor" elves. originally high elves or grey elves in ad&d. somewhere along the line eladrin began to live in elf heaven. so, as you say, elfs living in the fairy realms (faywild) rather than the gross lands of man. in 4th edition, the elves have split into eladrin, (wood) elves, and drow. eladrin were more arcane than the primal elves. fifth edition sort of follows. In 4e, the terms eladrin and high elves are synonymous. but in 5e, eladrin and a high elves are two different subraces of elf. can anyone please tell me if you have any insight as to why this younger generation of d&d game designers decided to butcher and destroy decades of rich lore and history that was canon in the forgotten realms.
