Kannan Devan Tea Museum Blossom Hill Resort Munnar Windows 11 backup and restore using windows 7 backup and restore option. have a new laptop with win 11 home . i disabled one drive (the cloud) as much as i could because i don't want my personal information in the cloud. i want to use the windows 7 backup option and i did a system image backup to an external hdd. I am used to backing up windows to a partition on the same hard drive. this worked well on windows 10, but backup will not run this way in windows 11. i don;t even get a reason why, it just doesn't start. i have a new 11 install on a new laptop with all the updates installed.

I created a system recovery image from windows 11 backup and restore (windows 7) before my computer was wiped, then w11 reinstalled. using the settings > system > recovery > advanced > restart . after restart troubleshoot > advanced options > system image recovery > see more recovery options, selected system image recovery.
