My First Ever Mechanical Keyboard Bought 5 Years Ago R Featuring the leopold fc750r with cherry mx blues (my favorite switch back then), and mito xda canvas (the keycap set that got me into customs). sold this recently and kind of regret not keeping it for sentimentality's sake. The goal of this subreddit is to provide daily links to interesting mechanical keyboard content in a friendly, welcoming setting.

Bought My First Ever Mechanical Keyboard R Mechanicalkeyboards I picked up my first mechanical keyboard about a year ago, and i immediately felt the difference. typing, gaming, everything felt more precise and comfortable. I probably read about mechanical keyboards for several years without actually ordering one because i wasn't sure how the switches were. i know if i had ordered one from amazon and didn't like. I feel like people shit on these prebuilt keyboards too much, its what got most people into the hobby. i got a k70 and now have an ibm model m, model f xt, and have plans to get a few more classics. So, as someone completely new to the world of mechanical keyboards, i figured a fun little summary of my journey of researching and selecting my first mechanical keyboard might help anyone out there who is also pondering a clicky clacky purchase.

I bought a newmen gm326 used off of amazon so i could try out a mechanical keyboard and modding. i filled in foam, did a tape mod, replaced a few switches with samples and swapped in some gmmk keycaps i bough cheap. I came across many gaming keyboards and happened to find out they were mechanical options in there as well. after trying many different keyboards, i wound up with this expensive but super nice gem. So, me being the naive, starry eyed twenty something that i am, i figured buying a mechanical keyboard would be as easy as walking into best buy, staples or london drugs and picking one up. It’s in one piece, but it probably hasn’t typed a word in nearly a 100 years. i think it’s possible that if it get a new ribbon and ink, and i cleaned it up a bit more, it’d work like when it was first made.
