Projects Keep Omaha Moving This project is to replace aging and deteriorating pavement, address access management needs, enhance pedestrian facilities, and improve the transportation facility operations, safety and mobility of the traveling public on both the q street and 48th street corridors. The 72nd & d street bridges project is currently in the preliminary design phase, with environmental and traffic analysis ongoing. once preliminary design is complete, the project moves into the right of way phase which involves relocating utilities, acquiring right of way, and finalizing design. In a release monday, keep omaha moving said the construction project along 72nd street between f street and i 80 will continue into “mid 2025″. this project is a reconstruction of a. 156th st pepperwood to corby street (updated october 16, 2020) progress continues on 156 th street as the project is nearing completion. please be alert for temporary lane shifts over the next few weeks and crews working on the median and areas outside the pavement.

This project will install quick build modular pedestrian refuge islands, which enhance safety by allowing pedestrians to cross one direction of traffic at a time and provide a resting point for those with mobility challenges. The project is located along 48th street from harrison street to q street. it also includes q street from 48th street to 44th street. the existing section on 48th street is a 2 lane roadway, widened to 3 lanes at harrison street and q street for left turn lanes. As part of its keep omaha moving campaign, the 168th street expansion project will build a modern, four lane road with medians, curbs, gutters, storm sewers, sidewalks, retaining walls, noise walls and traffic signals. the plan also calls for widening the bridge over zorinsky lake. City announces 2025 street projects funded by the street preservation fund. omaha voters approved a $200 million bond in 2020 for street repairs, and another $192 million in 2024. $28.6 million allocated for resurfacing 150 lane miles this year. 41 projects planned, including 21 major and 10 residential street projects. broadcast transcript:.
