Transparent Textures What S Wrong Materials And Textures Blender I am having issues with some textures importing into blender transparent. this however is only in evee mode… in cycles, it’s fine. these were made from procedural textures… except the wood. the wood was made from images however they too are coming in a little off with transparencies. I have a simple button texture i made in photoshop. the corners of the image were 100% transparent. the image was saved as a png aswell. (i see this forum even recognizes the transparency) i plug this image into blender on a flat plane. unwrap the plane aswell, give it a material.

Dream Textures Blender Market Making a texture transparent in blender is a valuable technique for creating realistic and visually appealing 3d models. transparency allows you to simulate the appearance of materials like glass, water, or sheer fabrics, adding depth and complexity to your scenes. One of the simplest tools for adding transparency to an object in blender is the transparent shader. it can be added and combined with other shaders in the shader editor. it is a simple shader that will turn the assigned portion of the material completely transparent. note: only pure white in the shader will produce transparency. Ticking off "show backface" in the material properties might work. importing fbx's tends to turn that on automatically for some reason, so i've found it's always good to check. hope this helps. The cycles diffuse node does not support transparency on its own. in the material nodes you need to add a transparency node and mix it with the textures alpha channel with a mix node. if you had it transparent from the start it might've been using the blender internal rendering engine which you can change from the top bar where it says cycles.

If not your normals or backface culling (explained in other comments) it could be the textures, look under your material properties tab > settings > blend mode and shadow mode (make sure these are both set to "opaque", if it is set to "alpha clip" "alpha blend" or "alpha hashed" it may come out as partially transparent as those settings should. Hi, i’m texturing a plane with a png image which has transparent area, and i cant seem to get the transparent area to render as transparent. ideally, what i’d like is for the transparency to render as sky, but i’d settle for just showing objects behind the plane. In this video, i will help you troubleshoot some common issues with textures and materials in blender, as well as give you some helpful tips for work with textures you have exported from. To understand the collaboration of textures and material we will use the opacity of a material the alpha value as an example. we will show how to set the opacity transparency of a material with different types of textures. the alpha value of the material is set with the a(lpha) slider in the material panel. this is the basic alpha value.
