Gangrel is so much fun when you build him right : r/vtmb - Reddit. Honestly I found Protean really frustrating, regularly missing enemies even with high dex/unarmed/brawl (the warehouse was a nightmare). Beastmistress + Animalism + Melee (plus Fortitude of course, but that should be standard for any Gangrel) ripped right through them. In fact I'd say Animalism is pretty good for late game if you aren't Tremere and don't want to deal with Ming clone bullshit.
